A deep blue hand painted backdrop with a soft column of rust red running down the centre. The blue is a rich navy, darker towards the edges, and the red glows through it like the last light in a window. The two colours are blended into each other rather than drawn as a hard line, so the shift reads as a gentle warmth in the middle of a cool canvas. Place your subject in front of the red and it lifts them away from the blue; place them to one side and the warm band becomes a quiet accent in the frame.
