Godox QR-P90T 90cm Quick Release Parabolic Softbox, Bowens S-Type

The QR-P90T is a 90cm parabolic softbox with a Bowens S-type fitting and a quick-release frame. To open it you lift the rods until they click, ideally two opposite rods at once. To fold it, lift each rod slightly and press the release button with your thumb. There's no threading rods into fabric pockets, which helps when you're setting up on location or packing down at the end of a long day.

The parabolic shape and silver lining push the light forward in a soft but controlled way, and the box is shallower than the earlier version, so it suits smaller studios. The inner baffle fixes on with a hook and loop strip that runs right round the inside, leaving no gaps for hotspots. Use it with the inner baffle, the outer diffuser, both or neither, depending on how soft you want the light.

The speed ring is kept small so it packs away easily. It's a good main light for portrait, fashion, beauty, wedding and event work, and for video too. Add the matching QR-P90T-G grid (sold separately) when you want to keep light off a painted backdrop so it falls darker behind your subject.
