A standard air-cushioned light stand plus a set of proper castor wheels — the cheap upgrade that changes how a small studio works. Instead of lift-shuffle-lower every time a light needs to move a foot, you roll it, then lock the brakes. The stand itself is a four-section aluminium telescopic, 79cm to a full 240cm, with an air-cushioned column: release a knob with a light mounted and it settles gently instead of crashing down. Load rating is 5kg — right for speedlights, small strobes and LED panels with mid-size modifiers — on a 92cm footprint. The three 75mm wheels run on hard-wearing rubber that behaves on carpet and hard floor alike, with cast-iron mounts and individual brakes. Folds to 76cm when the wheels come off for travel.
