This crossbar extends from 120cm to 300cm, so a single bar handles a narrow headshot setup one day and a full-width seamless roll the next. If you shoot in a spare room or a small hire studio, being able to shorten the bar rather than work around a fixed 3m span is often the difference between fitting the backdrop into the space and not. The tube is aluminium with a black finish, which keeps the weight down while carrying up to 8kg. That covers seamless paper, muslin and heavier hand-painted canvas, and the dark finish stays quiet in frame if you are shooting wide or bouncing light off a nearby wall. Both ends take a 5/8" spigot, the standard fitting on light stands and tripods, so the crossbar works with the stands you already own and your working height is set by whatever you mount it on.
